This big boy is Askit, a 1 year old Bull Mastiff living at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter in Gloucestershire that comes with a bit of a story! Askit had to be rescued from the River Avon by the Fire Brigade. Poor Askit was treading water for 45 minutes before they fished him out and is very lucky to still be with us. Sadly his owner has not been to claim him.

Askit has a really good natured and enjoys meeting new people. He will need to be rehomed to a family with older children and where someone is home for most of the day. His new owners will need to invest some time in training and teaching him not to jump up. With some guidance and love he really will make a wonderful pet. Alfie is an approximately 4-5 year old Bull Mastiff cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who urgently needs to find a new home. He has got a nutty nature, but needs training to discourage him from playing with random branches on trees! He is totally obsessed with them (no doubt trained to do this by the wrong type of people) but at the same time will release for treats and we are working hard with this fella. He is good with other dogs (plays around with Jet) and has already been castrated. He would suit a strong handler. No cats and no children as he would knock them over.

Transport can be arranged. All dogs have been wormed and deflead. All of these dogs were picked up as strays and never claimed. Rescue placements offered for these dogs also gratefully received. New prospective owners will need to vaccinate and microchip under this rescues strict guidelines.  read more »

Hello my name is Lola and I’m a fun, friendly and fantastic Bull Mastiff who is looking for a new forever home…

My owner could no longer look after me because they were moving into a new house and the landlord wouldnt let me go with them- meany!!! Im a lovely lad who likes playing with my toys and meeting new friends. I love playing with other dogs and would happily share my new house with another dog, the more the merrier. I have not lived with cats or young kids but would happily live with older children, as long as they agreed to play with me in the garden.

Im house-trained and i’m told im good enough not to need extra training classes. The people at Mayhew say im a super lad and would be a ‘bundle of joy’…  read more »

Monk is a male Bull Mastiff cross Dobermann aged approximately 3 1/2 years old. He kept being attacked by owners other two dogs and so is now looking for a loving forever home. Lovely temperament although can be a little boisterous but would make a lovely family pet. We would not recommend him being with other male dogs or cats. He is a medium sized dog.

Meet Sam, a 2 year old male Bull Mastiff, who is looking for a new home because his previous owner’s lifestyle changed leaving no time to care for Sam properly. Sam is a very soft-natured, well-rounded and well-behaved dog, who is good with children of all ages and is good with other dogs and cats. He is toilet-trained, knows all the basic commands, can be left alone without problems, travels well in the car, walks nicely on his lead and has excellent recall when off of his lead.

Sam is a very affectionate dog who will try to sit on your lap if allowed. His new owners will be knowledgeable about Bull Mastiffs and will be prepared for a dog that slobbers! He will require a minimum of an hour off lead exercise in a park or open space every day. Akooda was originally going to stay in her foster home but her foster mum has realised that would be her heart ruling her head , so she is available for rehoming.
Akooda is the hugest clown of a dog you will ever meet , she seems to have doubled in size to me!
She is on foster with other dogs and is great with them , Lizzie who she is a Goldie that she is on foster with is much more dominant than she is , and Akooda lets Lizzie beat her up
She is also on foster with cats and considers them as part of her family.
