Title: The Sweet And Loveable Basset Hound Dog Breed
Author: Lee Dobbins
The name, Basset Hound, derives from the word "bas", which
means low in French. Many believe this dog is a genetic dwarf
and were actually born from other litters of French hounds. It
is a direct descendant of the bloodhound. This breed has been a
round for a very long time. At a Paris dog show in 1863 is the
first showing of this breed. read more »

Chester is a 13 week old male who is in need of new home through no fault of his. Unfortunatley I have taken too much on and due to work commitments do not now have the time to give Chester the time and attention he deserves. He is Tri Colour Pedigree but not KC registered. Fully upto date with injections and worming. He is micro chipped which will be amended on sale of Chester. Will be very sad to have to see him go. Will provide Chesters bed toys and crate. He is getting there with paper training.
The city dog does well with all the bustle and noise of an urban environment. Traffic lights, cars, shops, and a good crowd does not deter or phase them. If you're looking for a dog that would do well in the city, here's a partial list:
• Basset Hound
• Boston Terrier
• Cardigan Welsh Corgi
• Dachshund
• French Bulldog
• Keeshond
• Maltese
• Pug
• Shih Tzu
• Scottish Terrier

We have two beautifully marked girls left in this litter of 8 babies. The Sire can be viewed on our website he has been shown and has won many best of Breed awards and is an excellent example of the breed. The Dam is our own breeding and a lovely girl who also has been shown. Puppies can be viewed on our website. Normally one might say that I'm jealous, but I don't think that's the case considering that I just got a puppy of my own.....
Anyhow, I'm fuming over this and need to know if I'm justified or not. My brother & his wife have a Basset Hound named Daisy. They got Daisy when she was about eight months old -- she must be about 2 1/2 now. They have not done a LICK of training with Daisy. They let her get morbidly obese and finally listened to me & the vet when she started to develop joint problems from the weight. They put her on a diet and got her down to 50 pounds (from 65 -- vet says she should be closer to 45 but 50 is better than 65....). Daisy has no manners, jumps on people, runs out the door and steals food. Whatever, it's their dog. read more »
